Living in a small, rural village near the coast really brings home the impact of climate change and our dependency on oil, lack of public transport options, local shops, the importance of community, etc etc. I want to make a difference to my local environment through positive active engagement and action, however small. Think Global. Act Local.
Brenda Cavanagh
Brenda is interested in green community activities: Ipswich Ripple Food Cooperative, People's Community Garden, LETS (Local Exchange Trading Scheme) barter system, Cycle Ipswich, Wildlife watch & conservation, as well as Green campaigning.
Will Loggie
Will's interests include green travel and a green family lifestyle. Having a baby can greatly increase one's carbon footprint, but this can be reduced with options such as reusable nappies. These have the additional benefit of being much cheaper!

"I believe that education is the answer ... if people only knew how much trouble we're in they would see the light and become a Greeny. Wishful thinking maybe; but every little helps.
I am actively involved in the Ipswich Transition Town initiative which aims to address the twin big issues of Peak Oil and Climate Change at the local level. Have you ever thought about how different our society will need to be when the oil starts running out? – well we have (and we could use some help).
I'm investigating Permaculture and I'm slowly converting my garden to grow as much food as I can (early days though)."
